WHAT IS SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION?

Scalp Micropigmentation is a non-invasive treatment that uses detailed micro-needles to deposit pigment into the scalp. The result creates the appearance of tiny hair follicles or short hair stubble. IS THE TREATMENT PAINFUL?

A treatment is not extremely painful but is felt differently by each client. The upper head and the crown are less sensitive. At the hairline there are more nerves and often that is the most sensitive spot during a treatment. We use an anesthetic cream if desired.

WILL THE PIGMENT USED FADE OR CHANGE COLOR?

This is not tattoo ink, this is specially formulated pigment used only for SMP. There is no risk of color turning blue or green. You can minimize fading with the use of quality sun block and proper aftercare. The level of fading will vary from person to person depending on many factors - ethnicity, activity level, blood type, and more. If fading occurs over a long period of time, it maybe be necessary to have additional touch-up procedures. Most clients will not need a touch up for many years and actually prefer their look to soften up as they grow older.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS SHOULD I EXPECT?

Scalp micropigmentation should never be considered a one treatment process. Most clients can expect between 2-4 sessions to complete their treatment depending on the extent of hair loss or scarring. These treatments are usually spaced about 10-20 days apart.

HOW ARE YOUR NEEDLES DIFFERENT FROM TATTOO NEEDLES?

Our nano needles are 80% smaller than standard tattoo needles and we use the same size needle in every procedure. This is to ensure control over product and placement while providing a natural look, a look that replicates natural hair follicles almost flawlessly. We use one of the smallest needles in the industry, and combined with our experience, we are able to creat the most natural hair follicles out of any competitor in the business.

CAN THE COLOR BE ADJUSTED INDIVIDUALLY?

Yes, of course, this is just the crucial part of a successful hair pigmentation. Our hair pigmentation specialists have over 6 years of experience with both hair transplantation and hair pigmentation. They also have the necessary diplomas and recognition.

IS SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION PERMANENT?

Scalp Micropigmentation is a form of permanent cosmetics or permanent makeup. Often referred to as a cosmetic hair or scalp tattoo, this treatment typically lasts 4-6 years. After that time, a client may experience some slight fading, to which they can come back in for a quick touch up. This cosmetic solution will not wash off but can be tweaked as years go on. We always recommend meeting with our team of experienced expert practitioners to discuss your treatment options.

HOW LONG DOES THE SCALP TAKE TO FULLY HEAL AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

Usually, your scalp should be fully healed within a week after your procedure. We provide post care guidelines that should be followed for the first week and after that, all we ask is that you protect your scalp with high SPF Sunblock daily. With that said, you should be able to go to work or out to dinner immediately following your procedure. There is no real down time, as this is not a surgery.

WILL SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION WORK WITH GRAY HAIR?

Yes, those with gray hair can still benefit from the scalp micropigmentation procedure. First, most clients are recommended to cut their hair to a short buzzed length. When this is done, gray hair does not appear as gray because the hair root itself is darker. Hair only shows gray as it gets longer. Second, we use a gray-scale pigment that can be adjusted in shade to blend with lighter hair tones. We simply create a lighter dilution for blending into the existing gray hairs.

DO I NEED TO TAKE TIME OFF WORK?

Scalp micropigmentation is non-invasive and requires no down time. In most cases, you will not need to take any extended time away from work, school, or other functions. After treatment it is common to notice slight redness on the scalp for 2-3 days post session. This redness subsides quickly and most clients return to work either right away or within a couple days. Clients are also allowed to wear hats or headwear should they feel the need.

CAN THIS PROCEDURE WORK ON FAIR SKINNED PEOPLE WITH LIGHT BROWN OR BLONDE HAIR?

Yes. Since we custom blend our colors, we are able to match hair color whether blonde, red, brown or black! Most hair follicles are dark when shaved down so our blend of certain shades along our grayscale/black pigment will match most follicles.
